Computers need regular maintenance, not only for the software but also for hardware.  If your computer has been on the floor, in a smoky or dusty environment, or even if it hasn’t been serviced in some time dirt can gather on the fans, and fan grills reducing the air flow and causing your computer to run hotter than it should.  Computers are designed to operate in cool temperatures; the hotter the components get the slower the machine will run. During the MOT we clean all the fans & remove dust from components before we begin on the software.  Software installed on your computer can become outdated, new security files released by Microsoft may not be downloaded, viruses & spyware can run amok even if you have antivirus installed. We check all security installed, update all necessary files and programs, install a high acclaimed, yet free anti virus and spyware removing program. We remove any unnecessary programs and reduce the computers number of running processes when needed. We also scan and remove viruses and spy ware infection, remove temporary files, and defragment the hard disk.  A complete service for your computer. A computer hard drive or disk stores information in such a way that it is possible to recover lost data (files, pictures, documents etc).  If you have accidentally deleted some important documents, family photos or Windows fails to load all is not lost, we can attempt to restore your files. We can even work on a formatted hard-drive. Success rates are usually over 90% depending on file types and the way in which the data was lost.  Success rates drop dramatically if data has been written over (Windows can do this just by loading), so don’t touch it, don’t panic, just call us.  If we are unable to recover any of your files there is no charge

If your machines software is beyond repair, or the fix will take over 2 hours we recommend a Windows Reinstall. The time and costs are lower, and unless you have important data you need recovered first a re-install often works out cheaper than a lengthy fix.  There are other benefits to a Windows reinstall; the machine should perform as new, without any unneeded software in the system slowing it down, it would be completely free of virus’s and spyware. We would install Anti Virus, Spyware protection, firewalls and perform all necessary software and security updates. There would be no annual charge for the software we install (unlike many of the better known and less effective security packages available)
